PROUDLY PRESENTS
We are thrilled to introduce the first annual VMO Golf Tournament. Created for the community philanthropists and golf lovers, this fundraising event allows VMO patrons to connect socially over golfing whilst enjoying the beautiful west coast mountain views, and to support VMO’s mission to inspire, develop and enrich our next generation’s interest and talent in classical music and performing art.
You can become a community leader by joining the VMO fundraiser to create a meaningful impact to the community culture and this city’s heritage. In addition, you will have a once-in-a-life-time opportunity to meet with celebrity participants Figure Skater, Olympic Gold Medalist and World Champion, Patrick Chan and Iron Chef of Canada Rob Feenie.
This September, the Vancouver Metropolitan Orchestra will be celebrating its 20th anniversary of serving the community musically. As a nonprofit society, it was founded by Maestro Kenneth Hsieh in 2003, and has been dedicated to providing superior orchestral mentorship for talented music graduates, helping them advance in their professional development.
VMO presents four to six subscription concerts each season and conducts several educational outreach programs per year. VMO’s orchestra members and mentors have connected with over 10,000 students through those outreach programs since it inaugurated the education mandate.
Despite the ongoing challenges of Covid-19, VMO has been fortunate to continually find creative ways to share music with its audiences, including through a series of recent live performances. To sustain its commitment to the musical community, VMO urgently needs to invest in repair and upgrade of certain musical instruments and equipment.
The annual Golf Tournament will enable VMO to realize this fundraising goal, and ultimately, to ensure the musicians and audiences can both enjoy impeccable performance in the future seasons.
